WHATSAPP ON ANDROID TABLET

In the article about the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.21.6 update, we announced that WhatsApp was rolling out a version of the companion mode that makes it possible to link an Android tablet to an existing WhatsApp account. We also announced in the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.4.8 changelog that WhatsApp was developing an in-app banner to announce that exact version.
The banner may still not be available but after installing the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.24.18 update, a presentation screen for WhatsApp on Android tablets is available right within linked devices to some beta testers:

As you can see in this screenshot, the new presentation screen shows up within the linked devices section after selecting the option "linked devices beta". Since this feature is marked as "beta", it means that some features may still not be available for some users, for example, the ability to view live locations and manage broadcast lists.
You should download the most recent beta update available on the Play Store to check if this feature is already available for your account: in case a QR Code screen shows up after opening WhatsApp on your tablet, it means you can finally start using your existing WhatsApp account on your Android tablet.

Note that this version of the companion mode is still limited to Android tablets and it will be released to other mobile devices in the future. Unfortunately, we do not know the release date of the feature but it will probably be released when all features are also available on companion devices and bugs are finally addressed.

The new presentation sheet for WhatsApp on Android tablets is available to some beta testers and it is rolling out to more users over the coming weeks.
