DO NOT DISTURB API
In the article about the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.21.7 update, we posted news about a new feature under development: the ability to use the Do Not Disturb API. Thanks to this feature, it is easy to understand if you missed a call due to your do not disturb settings. Thanks to the most recent update of WhatsApp beta available within the Play Store, the feature is now available for certain beta testers:
As you can see in this screenshot, it is easy to discover if the feature is already available for your account: just enable do not disturb mode right within your phone settings and ask a friend to call you for some seconds. In case you see a new label "Silenced by Do Not Disturb", it means the feature is finally enabled for your WhatsApp account!
Note that this information only shows up to you: the recipient won't know that you missed the call due to the do not disturb mode enabled on your phone.
The Do Not Disturb mode support for missed calls has been released to some beta testers today and it is rolling out to more users over the coming days.
