WhatsApp is rolling out a new update through the Google Play Beta Program, bringing the version up to 2.22.22.7.

DOCUMENT CAPTION
In the article about the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.21.2 update, we discovered that WhatsApp was working on new improvements for documents: in particular, a feature that lets share documents with a caption was under development. Finally, the company is releasing the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.22.7 update and it seems the rollout is wider since some beta testers can now use this feature!
As you can see in this screenshot, we tested the feature by selecting a document within the chat share sheet and a caption bar shows up. Thanks to the caption bar, we are able to attach a caption to the document before sharing it with the recipient. When you share a document with a caption, it is easier for you to find it later thanks to the caption by entering it within the search text field.
This feature has been released to some beta testers that install one of the most updated builds from the Play Store and more activations are planned over the coming weeks.
