DO NOT DISTURB API

In June, we posted news about a new feature released to some iOS beta testers: the ability to detect when the do not disturb mode was enabled. When a call is missed and the do not disturb mode is enabled on iOS, the reason why the call was missed is highlighted within the conversation and the call history section. This feature was not available on WhatsApp beta for Android but thanks to the latest beta update, we discovered that WhatsApp is working on bringing the same feature to a future update of the Android app!

As you can see in this screenshot, when a call is missed and do not disturb is enabled, this event is automatically added to the conversation and soon within the call history screen as well. In reality, this event is already visible within the conversation when a call is missed but the "while on Do Not Disturb" part is new. Note that this information is only visible on your side so the recipient doesn't know that you missed the call because the do not disturb mode was enabled on your device.
Unfortunately, this is another feature under development so it is not ready. In this case, you need to wait for a future update in order to use it. As always, we will let you know when the feature is ready to be released to beta testers in the future.
