In the article about the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.17.12 update, we announced that WhatsApp was releasing to group admins the ability to delete other participants’ messages for everyone in their groups. This feature was limited to certain beta testers but thanks to the new WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.19.17 update, more group admins are finally able to use the feature today!
If you want to check if the feature is enabled for your account, just try to delete a message sent from another participant within a group where you’re an admin: if “delete for everyone” shows up, it means the feature is finally available for your account. In addition, a test for people that use stable releases of the app is now available so group admins on non-beta versions may be able to delete messages for everyone as well.
But this is not all: WhatsApp is also releasing the ability to view the status updates right within the chat list. Even this feature was previously limited to some lucky beta testers after installing the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.18.17 update, but the rollout is wider now. If you do not like viewing them within the chat list and you don’t even use status updates, you can mute status updates from the status tab so they won’t show up within the chat list anymore.
These features are available to more beta testers after installing the latest beta today. If you still don’t have these features, don’t worry: it’s only a matter of time because they will be rolled out to more and more people over the coming weeks.
