WhatsApp is rolling out a new update through the Google Play Beta Program, bringing the version up to 188.8.131.52.

|Name of the feature?||Admin Delete – Status Updates|
|Availability?||WhatsApp beta for Android 184.108.40.206 is marked as compatible update but some lucky beta testers may be able to get these features after installing some previous updates as well.|
|I’ve installed this update but I don’t see these features. Why?||WhatsApp is releasing these features to more beta testers today, but some time may still be needed before rolling out these features for everyone.|
|Thanks:||Sniper, FastenM, TheNewsHQ, rubiokarim, and shimon128, for testing and reporting!|
|Previous news?||WhatsApp is working on introducing your own chat on linked devices|
In the article about the WhatsApp beta for Android 220.127.116.11 update, we announced that WhatsApp was releasing to group admins the ability to delete other participants’ messages for everyone in their groups. This feature was limited to certain beta testers but thanks to the new WhatsApp beta for Android 18.104.22.168 update, more group admins are finally able to use the feature today!
If you want to check if the feature is enabled for your account, just try to delete a message sent from another participant within a group where you’re an admin: if “delete for everyone” shows up, it means the feature is finally available for your account. In addition, a test for people that use stable releases of the app is now available so group admins on non-beta versions may be able to delete messages for everyone as well.
But this is not all: WhatsApp is also releasing the ability to view the status updates right within the chat list. Even this feature was previously limited to some lucky beta testers after installing the WhatsApp beta for Android 22.214.171.124 update, but the rollout is wider now. If you do not like viewing them within the chat list and you don’t even use status updates, you can mute status updates from the status tab so they won’t show up within the chat list anymore.
These features are available to more beta testers after installing the latest beta today. If you still don’t have these features, don’t worry: it’s only a matter of time because they will be rolled out to more and more people over the coming weeks.
