WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.18.9: what's new?
WhatsApp is rolling out a new update through the Google Play Beta Program, bringing the version up to 2.22.18.9.

APPROVE NEW PARTICIPANTS
In the article about the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.14.6 update, we shared news about the ability to manage who can join groups by using a group approval membership system. The feature is still under development but, thanks to the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.18.9 update, we can finally share with you a screenshot of the setting that shows up in a future update of the app:
As you can see in this screenshot, WhatsApp plans to introduce a new group setting called "Approve new participants": thanks to this new setting, group admins can decide who can join the group. There will probably be a new section that lists all current requests of users that want to join the group: in this section, group admins can accept or decline incoming requests.
Unfortunately, this feature is under development and we don't know when it will be released. An additional article will be posted on this website when we have further information to share with you.
