PHONE NUMBER SHARING
After sharing the details about a new security feature under development called login approval, we're ready to share something about a privacy feature for communities.
Communities are the best place to find all groups related to the same topic, and Mark Zuckerberg shared his vision for WhatsApp communities some months ago. Today, thanks to the new WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.17.23 update, we discovered a new privacy setting right within the section group info!

4 months ago, WhatsApp already shared the plan to hide phone numbers between members of communities with The Verge, but we're finally able to show you the setting. In fact, as you can see in this screenshot, the new privacy setting is about the ability to share the phone number to a certain sub-group of a community! This option is disabled by default so it means your phone number will immediately be hidden to all members when you join a community, but you are free to share it with a certain sub-group of a community if you want.
Unfortunately, this privacy option is only limited to communities and they are still under development. There will be another article when the feature is ready.
