MOVE CHATS TO IOS
Last month, Mark Zuckerberg announced on Facebook that WhatsApp was releasing the ability to move chats to iOS. Even if the announcement was official, it seems it was A/B testing since many people could not migrate their chat history from Android to iOS... until today. In fact, thanks to the recent WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.15.11 update, more users may now be able to transfer their chat history to iOS since the rollout is wider now!
If you are looking for a way to discover if the feature is available for your WhatsApp account:
- You need to install the Move to iOS app from the Play Store.
- Your iPhone should be updated to iOS 15.5 and it should be restored to factory settings.
- You should use at least Android 5, and you have to install the most updated versions of WhatsApp.
The process works by connecting your devices to a power source and the same Wi-Fi network. If you meet all the requirements and WhatsApp shows up within the Move to iOS app, the feature is available for your account!
If you need a detailed guide to discovering how to transfer your chat history to iOS, we recommend reading our previous article posted when Mark Zuckerberg announced the feature on Facebook last month.
If you can still not migrate your chat history even after updating to this build (because WhatsApp does not show up within the Move to iOS app), do not worry: it is true that the rollout is wider now, but it may still not reach everyone today, unfortunately. In this case, you just need to wait for another update that will enable the feature for more people over the coming weeks.
