WhatsApp keeps working on improving message reactions. The last week, WhatsApp has released the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.12.14 update, bringing the ability to view detailed reaction info for automatic albums. Today, after announcing the ability to edit text messages in a future update of the app, the company is now releasing another minor tweak for reactions:
As you can see in this screenshot, we have reacted to those messages by using the same emoji but with a different skin-tone every time. The skin tone for Folded Hands and Thumbs Up is now based on the last used skin tone emoji from our main emojis list. So, for example, if you have recently sent a Light Skin Tone Thumbs Up, it will also be available right within the reactions tray.
This minor tweak for reactions is available today. Be sure to install the latest WhatsApp beta for Android update from the Google Play Store in order to use this feature. Note that their future plans also reveal the ability to react to messages by using any available emoji in a future update of the app, so be sure to frequently visit this website to discover when this feature will be released!
