RICH LINK PREVIEW
In the past few days, we have announced that WhatsApp is working on bringing better previews when sharing links to text status updates. At first, the feature has been spotted during the development of WhatsApp beta for iOS. After some days, we have discovered that the same feature is under development on the WhatsApp Desktop beta 2.222.18.1 update. Today, there is news about WhatsApp beta for Android:
As you can see in this screenshot, rich link previews will also be available in a future update of WhatsApp beta for Android. Rich link previews are always generated if the user waits for a few seconds before sharing the link as a status update, and the recipients will be able to see them if the feature is enabled for their WhatsApp account. This is another improvement for text status updates after introducing small UI changes to some users last week.
Unfortunately, this feature is under development and we do not know when it will be rolled out to beta testers. We will post a new changelog on this website when further details are available.
