WhatsApp beta for Android 2.19.332: what’s new?

Like Love Haha Wow Sad Angry

WhatsApp has recently submitted a new update through the Google Play Beta Program, bringing the version up to 2.19.332.
What’s new in this update? Discover all details below!

  • The new blocked contact notice and Grouped Blocked Contacts features are not available
  • WhatsApp is working on these feature in the recent few updates, in order to ensure the best bug-free experience for you. For this reason it’s absolutely normal if you don’t see these features in WhatsApp, seen that they are under development.
  • If you don’t see the update on the Play Store, please be patient until Google will roll out for you (probably in according to WhatsApp preferences).

WhatsApp is developing a new small feature, available in future, that will show in the chat when you have blocked or unblocked a contact.

We prefer to explain better how this feature works, to avoid misunderstanding. When this feature will be enabled, every time you block a contact, WhatsApp will add a bubble in the chat reporting “You blocked this contact. Tap to unblock.”. The same happens when you decide to unblock a contact.
This notice will be added in your chat only: this means that the contact that you have blocked won’t directly know that you have blocked him. Yes, he can understand that he has been blocked when he won’t see your last seen, profile picture and about, but he will never receive this direct notice.
At the same time, if someone will block you, the notice will appear in his chat only, so it won’t appear at your side.

WhatsApp is starting to work on another small feature, that will automatically group your blocked contacts list following a specific criteria: all your business contacts will be moved on a different section!

This new arrangement will be automatic. This means that you won’t have to manually set a contact as Business, WhatsApp already knows which contacts are businesses and they will be moved in the second section.
This change will be introduced in your Blocked Contacts only.

We prefer to specify again that these features are under development, so they aren’t visible after updating to the 2.19.332 beta update.
This update has hidden tracks for these features, not normally available for the public.
When WhatsApp will release those features (and other features too) to every beta tester, we will certainly publish a post to announce them. Stay tuned!
