As you can see from the attached screenshot, WhatsApp is rolling out a new filter to quickly locate favorite chats and groups, as announced in the official blog post. This update enables users to improve their messaging experience by easily accessing their most important conversations directly from the chats tab. Users can mark both individual chats and group conversations as favorites, ensuring these are readily accessible and prioritized. In addition, another filter to allow users to quickly locate their favorites is now available within the calls tab, making the process of placing calls faster as a phone call will become just a tap away. These filters add a new layer of convenience to managing interactions, ensuring users can easily connect with their preferred contacts and groups.

WhatsApp has introduced multiple methods for users to mark their chats and groups as favorites. Users can add chats and groups to their favorites by accessing the Favorites tab within the chats list. Additionally, they can designate specific contacts and groups as favorites directly from the chat info or the calls tab. Managing favorites is also possible within the app settings, allowing users to easily add, organize, and remove them. It is important to note that, while the screenshot is taken from WhatsApp for Android, the same feature is also available on the iOS app, as announced in our article about the WhatsApp for iOS 24.11.85 update.

A feature to mark chats and groups as favorite is available to some users who install the latest updates of WhatsApp for Android from the Google Play Store and WhatsApp for iOS from the App Store, and it is rolling out to even more people over the coming days.
