Concept reveals double viewing option for images and videos on WhatsApp

VIEW TWICE
Two months ago, WhatsApp released a feature to allow users to set the view once mode to voice notes. This feature adds a new layer of privacy to voice messages, as they cannot be saved, forwarded, and exported, ensuring a more secure and ephemeral communication experience. Since WhatsApp is constantly working to enhance the user experience by introducing new features, we think they may also introduce improvements to the feature to share images and videos with the "view once" mode. Specifically, we believe WhatsApp may further refine this feature by introducing an option allowing users to view such images and videos twice.
Our concept introduces a new option to allow users to quickly toggle the mode through which the photo or video will be sent. This enhancement aims to empower users with greater control and customization over their media sharing experience, aligning with WhatsApp's dedication to delivering innovative and user-centric solutions. After viewing the ephemeral photo or video for the first time, the counter decreases by one, allowing the user for an additional viewing by tapping again the same message.

Since it's quite common to have to resend an ephemeral photo or video, probably when the recipient missed to view it due to distractions, this feature would address a common user need for a more flexible communication experience. By allowing a second viewing, it would also ensure that important visual content is not overlooked and would provide users with added convenience in managing their shared media.
Please note that the feature described in this concept is not currently available on WhatsApp. While this is simply a concept at this time, we hope that it will be considered for implementation in a future update of the app. We believe that this feature would be a significant step forward in improving ephemeral sharing on WhatsApp, and it would be a valuable asset to the user experience.
