Sharing a concept is a great way to provide feedback and suggestions for new future features on WhatsApp beta for Android, iOS, and Desktop. HIDE MESSAGES IN GROUP CHATS

When a contact is blocked, their ability to send messages or call you is restricted. However, interactions within common groups still remain possible, and messages from blocked contacts remain visible to maintain the continuity of communication. This means that while the blocked contact loses the ability to privately message or call you, their presence in group conversations remains active. We believe WhatsApp may further improve the contact blocking feature by introducing an option to hide messages from blocked contacts in group chats:

Our concept introduces a new optional feature to allow users to hide messages from blocked contacts in their common groups and remove their profile icon next to the message bubble. The message isn't removed from the conversation and it's marked as hidden to preserve the flow of the conversation without causing any visual interruption. Users can choose to hide such messages from blocked contacts in their group chats within their chat settings. This enhancement is designed to provide users with greater control over their group chat experience, ensuring that they can still participate without being disrupted by messages from contacts they've chosen to block.

In our opinion, implementing a feature to allow users to hide messages from blocked contacts in group chats can bring several advantages to the user experience. Generally, viewing messages from blocked contacts in common group chats can be disruptive for users. When a contact is blocked, it's often for personal reasons, such as avoiding unwanted communication. Allowing users to hide messages from blocked contacts in group chats ensures that their messages don't appear in the chat screen and contributes to maintain a more comfortable and less intrusive communication environment within group chats. In addition, users can focus on the relevant group discussions by hiding messages from blocked contacts without being distracted by messages from those contacts they have chosen to block, preventing any potential disruption.

Please note that the feature described in this concept is not currently available on WhatsApp. While this is simply a concept at this time, we hope that it will be considered for implementation in a future update of the app. We believe that this feature would be a significant step forward in improving control over blocked contacts on WhatsApp, and it would be a valuable asset to the user experience. If we receive any updates or information about the possibility of this feature being implemented, we will make sure to share it through additional articles on our website. We hope that you enjoyed learning about our concept and we will appreciate your feedback.
