Concept reveals a feature to get reaction notifications from contacts for WhatsApp channels

Sharing a concept is a great way to provide feedback and suggestions for new future features on WhatsApp beta for Android, iOS, and Desktop. After discussing the concept of bringing a feature to retrieve the chat history shared with other users, we are excited to share another concept to improve the user experience: a feature to get reaction notifications from contacts for WhatsApp channels!

One of the challenges faced by WhatsApp channel creators is keeping track of how their followers engage with the content they share. While WhatsApp already provides a way to see who follows a channel from their contacts and allows creators to view if they reacted to specific updates, the current system has some limitations. Creators must manually check this information by navigating through the interface, which can become complicated, especially for those managing multiple updates or seeking to monitor reactions regularly. However, through our feature concept, we've come up with a solution that would allow channel creators to receive real-time notifications whenever their contacts who follow the channel add a reaction to an update.

Our concept would provide channel creators with the option to enable real-time notifications for reactions from their contacts. When a contact adds a reaction to an update shared in the channel, the channel admin would receive a notification displaying the name of the channel, the channel icon, the name of the contact who reacted, which emoji was used, and the update they reacted to. This notification system would eliminate the need for creators to manually check reaction details, offering a more dynamic and proactive way to monitor engagement.

For creators, engagement is key to understanding their audience and tailoring content accordingly. Real-time reaction notifications would help channel admins save time by removing the need to navigate through the reaction interface to check if their contacts reacted to the update. In addition, this would provide immediate feedback on how followers are responding to updates. Receiving notifications whenever a contact reacts to an update could also inspire channel admins to put more effort into creating additional content for their channel, knowing that their personal audience appreciates and engages with their updates.

Please note that the feature described in this concept is not currently available on WhatsApp. While this is simply our personal concept at this time, we hope that it will be considered for implementation in a future update of the app. We believe this feature would be a significant advancement in providing channel admins with a tool to receive reaction notifications from their contacts, making it a valuable addition to the user experience.
