KEEP DISAPPEARING MESSAGES
Thanks to disappearing messages, there is more privacy when sending messages in ephemeral chats and groups, but it can happen that you send a very important message in the chat while disappearing messages are enabled and you want to keep it in the chat. What to do? At the moment, you can temporarily disable disappearing messages, forward the message to the same chat, and enable disappearing messages again, but this procedure is enough cumbersome. For this reason, WhatsApp is developing a feature that allows keeping specific messages in the chat:
As you can see in this screenshot, when you decide to keep a disappear message in the chat, a new alert shows up asking if you want to keep the message in the chat. If you have previously kept a disappearing message in the chat, you can decide to discard it later. When you decide to keep the message, it won't disappear from the chat after its expiration and the recipient can still see it, but they can delete it later.
This feature seems in a very early stage of development so, as any other feature that's under development, its purpose may change before the release or the feature may also be discarded.
