WhatsApp is rolling out a new update through the Google Play Beta Program, bringing the version up to 2.22.25.12.
What’s new in this update? WhatsApp is working on 21 new emojis, for a future update of the app!

21 NEW EMOJIS

In the article about the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.8.8 update, we explained that WhatsApp was introducing several emojis from the latest Unicode. In addition, some emojis also supported skin tone combinations starting with that update. Today, there is something else new about emojis: after releasing the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.25.12 update on the Play Store, we discovered that WhatsApp is working on 21 new emojis to release in a future update of the app!

As you can see in this screenshot, there are 21 new emojis planned to be released in a future update. But there is even more: WhatsApp also redesigned 8 emojis and they are already visible in this beta. In reality, you may not have noticed them since the changes are not really evident (except for Pleading Face and Face Holding Back Tears) but thanks to the attached screenshot, you can discover which emojis have been redesigned.

As always, you can also see which emojis are planned to be released on WhatsApp in the attached screenshot: you can see the old layout in the screenshot on the left while the new one is in the photo on the right with all other new emojis for a future update.

8 emojis have been updated in the latest beta build from the Play Store and 21 new emojis are planned to be released to all beta testers at a later date.
